The Steamboat House.    "Texas, Texas, Margaret"  Last words of General Sam Houston.  Beautiful framed piece with picture of The Steamboat House.   Place where General Sam Houston died in 1863.   Rare First Day cover with Tom Lea Stamp issued first day of Issue Jan 10, 1964.

Washington on the Brazos, Independence Hall

Framed Wall Hanging with a beautiful color picture of Texas Independence Hall, Washington on the Brazos State Park, Washington County, Texas.    Beautiful color picture of the replica school house where the delegates declared Texas Independence, March 2, 1836.   Item also has a rare First Day Cover of the Tom Lea stamp of General Houston.

San Jacinto-"Remember the Alamo"
 

The Battle Cry given to his army as they began their charge against a superior Mexican forces  in the late afternoon on April 21, 1836.   The memory of their fallen comrades at the Alamo 6 weeks earlier was on their minds as they charged.  General Houston was leading the charge and was leading the Battle Cry......"Remember The Alamo......Remember Goliad" Item has a rare First Day Cover of the Tom Lea stamp of General Houston issued Jan 10, 1964.

Sam Houston Gravesite

The quote on the grave marker is from Sam Houston's friend and mentor, Andrew Jackson.  From the battle at Horseshoe Bend where the young Lieutenant Houston distinguished himself in front of General Jackson, they were life long friends.    Jackson knew of what young Houston was made of.....and he was right.   This beautiful piece has a picture of the grave maker at General Houston's grave in Huntsville, Texas.    General Houston is atop his war horse, Saracen.
