"Remember The Alamo"  General Sam Houston

Battle of San Jacinto  April 21, 1836

The Battle Cry given to his militia army as they began their charge against a superior Mexican Army in the late afternoon on April 21, 1836.   The memory of their fallen comrades at the Alamo 6 weeks earlier was on their mind as they charged. This beautiful framed piece has a color picture of re-creators charging the Mexican position.  We see the Texan's Flag waving as it is carried over the breastwork.  Cannon smoke is in the air and the Post Oak trees are dripping with moss as we see the actual location as it looked in 1836.   Eighteen minutes of fighting produced a complete rout by the Texan Army resulting in losses for the Mexican army at over 600 and only a few Texans.

This piece also includes a rare First Day Cover with a cancelled stamp of the famous Tom Lea stamp  issued Jan 10, 1964 commemorating  100 years of General Houston's death.

A fine piece for anyone's Texas collection.  Framed in a soft pine frame, stained.
