Huntsville, TX 1848 This beautiful Wall hanging has a beautiful color picture of The Woodland House in early spring. Located on the Campus of Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas, this house is in the classic early Texana style, Dog Run. The house has two separate living areas, one a parlor and the other, a bedroom, while the children slept in the breezeway or in the loft above. Early Texana style was popular and practical to provide relief from the Texas heat as well as places for the dogs to sleep. Sam Houston and his wife, Margaret lived in this house while General Houston was away in Washington as a Senator from Texas. It was in this house they raised their many children. This piece has the picture as well as a rare First Day Cover issue of the 1964 Stamp commemorating 100 yrs since General Houston's death. Item is framed in a soft pine frame, stained and matted with Kelly Green. A fine piece for any Texas collectors study.
Price: $110.00 Item # TS02
