| Trailblazer-General-Statesman San Felipe, Texas Framed Wall Hanging with a beautiful color picture of the statue of Stephen F. Austin at San Felipe, site of Austin's Colony in Texas. It was at this location, that Austin headquartered his colony with the Old Three Hundred...the first Anglo settlers to Texas. William B. Travis, Jane Long, and Sam Houston all lived for brief times at San Felipe. The original town was burned by the Texas Army to keep it from the hands of Santa Anna during his siege of Texas in April of 1836. We see Austin sitting on a huge block of Texas marble, gazing off into his beloved Texas. This item also has a rare First Day Cover with a rare stamp issued in March of 1836, the Texas Centennial. Images of both Austin and Houston along with the Alamo are on the stamp. This particular item is cancelled on Nov 3, 1982, Austin's birthday celebration. Item is framed in a soft pine frame, stained, with a Kelly green matt. This item is a must for any Texas collector. Price: $110.00 Item# TS11 |
